101 Wedding is all about Krish (Kunchacko Boban) who is a tv channel programme director and the Son of a Gandhian (Vijayaraghavan) who works against alcohol dealers. During Krish’s childhood days Antappan (Biju Menon) used to beat him up and Krish gave a hard time to Antappan by making him a Robber. Antappan is searching for Krish to kill him as revenge to what happened to him. Being a Gandhian, Krish’s father want’s Krish to marry Abhirami (Samvrutha Sunil) who helps Krish’s Father by giving information against unofficial Spirit Transport. Abhirami and her Organization decides to conduct a public marriage function to protest against the Dowry system. She herself decides to find a husband from there itself and Krish’s father requests her to marry his son. Krissh is against this but he is forced to go to the camp by his father. Krish’s friend (Vineesh) gives him an idea of bringing in Jyothi (Jayasurya) as Krish in front of Abhirami. Rukhiya (Bhama) Daughter of Khader (Salim Kumar) also reaches the camp for public marriage. The movie deals with the funny happenings at the camp and the things that come in way of Krish.
The Movies first half is completely entertaining one including some good humorous moments. Moving towards the second half the things get a bit serious. The second half goes with some tense moments and some comedies. The climax suspense is an almost predictable one .
Shafi’s Direction is good. Kalavoor Ravikumar’s script is almost good for an entertainer of this kind. Cinematography by Alagappan is good. Music by Deepak Dev is good giving a couple of good songs and a pretty interesting BGM. The editing section handled by Mahesh is also good.
In the acting section Kunchacko Boban who is rising to super stardom handling the central character of the movie have given a good performance both in the Comical and Sentimental sequences. Unlike Ordinary Biju menon did not have much to perform in here.Jayasurya who took up a feminine touch character felt a bit over in the beginning and later on he also gave a good show especially in the sentimental sequences. Salim Kumar ,Vijayaraghevan and other actors also gave a good show. Samvrutha and Bhama were apt as the heroines.
Shafi may be looking for a hit after the failure of Veneecile Vyapari. Kunchacko will be looking to continue his dream run through 101 Weddings. Biju Menon who is now the industries best option for a supporting character will get another hit to his cap.
“101 WEDDING IS AN AVERAGE ENTERTAINER”
